Birthdays & Evelynne Jane :)

Oh my Lanta! Is it really already the end of AUGUST?! I have some catching up to do.

July 1st (my cousin, more like nephew) Vincent turned 5!

Sara (cousin) came and stayed with me for a couple of days and I taught her how to make cookies!

Melanie and I turned 19 on the 3rd! We spent most of the day together and the evening at my parent's house. It was a fun day that consisted of home videos, ice cream cake, and some thoughtful gifts from the hubs. I truly love being able to share my birthday with my sister every year and it was our first birthday as married women!

Rob and I celebrated Independence Day with his side of the family. The boys threw a football around and grilled hot dogs. Unfortunately due to poor planning on everyone's part we ended up not being able to watch the fireworks together but I guess there's always next year, right? Before we went home the boys shot off some fireworks of their own (always scary!) which they enjoyed. God bless America!

Tuesday, July 16th was by far the most eventful day in July! Evelynne Jane Healey was born and the hearts of many were won over by a little 7lb, 2oz bundle of joy. I am seriously so in love with her. Melanie is a total natural at mothering and it's so obvious that she was meant to be Evelynne's Mommy :) Evelynne has the sweetest chubby cheeks, Melanie's nose, Zach's hairline, and the cutest little dimple. Oh, and so much hair! It was so surreal sitting in the waiting room the night she was born. Rob and I were playing skip-bo with Zach's sweet Mom and sister-in-law and we were all so anxious to meet her! The moment my Mom texted me all of the details (and a picture) saying that she was finally here was one of the most exciting of my life.

More events from July worth mentioning:
  • I had three photo shoots that went swimmingly!
  • My Dad turned 47! Yikes! :) Dakota (cousin) and Sam (aunt) had birthdays too!
  • I started reading "Catcher in the Rye" ...terrible book. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I'm still trying to find a (good) reason why anyone would consider it a classic.
  • My friend Camille took me out to lunch for my b-day! We went to a new place called Conrad's in Liberty and I loved it!
  • Started reading "In cold blood" which is a pretty interesting book but about half way through it started to bore me so I didn't finish it. Finished "Believeing Christ" which I love and would highly recommend to any of you Christian folk out there.
  • Made sausage tortellini soup for the sister missionaries. (One of mine and Robs favorite soups) Recipe: HERE
  • Got to see the Allen family while they were in town! I love them, love them, love them.
  • On the 25th Taylor Meador (cousin) came home from his mission! He served in Merida Mexico and I'm so proud of him! He is seriously such a catch and I can't wait to see what lucky woman he ties the knot with.

+ Interesting (or not) fact about me: I can't stand it when someone calls me "sweetie". It's something I'm trying to get over but as of right now I still just...hate it.
